Since downtown is a transportation hub, there is plenty to see and do around the Flushing area. Flushing-Meadows Corona Park, which hosted two world fairs, holds several events throughout the year. The annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival is a big hit in August. The park is also home to Shea Stadium, where the New York Mets play baseball and the U.S. Open tennis tournament takes place. The park also houses The New York Hall of Science, Queens Museum of Art, Queens Zoo, Queens Botanical Gardens and much more.
